The newest vehicle by Subaru plans to offer the best of both in 2023 with the upcoming Solterra Electric Vehicle. The all-new 2023 Solterra EV near Santa Fe, NM gets you into the outdoors with impressive yet environmentally-friendly power. Built from bottom to top on the company's first all-electric architecture, the e-Subaru Global Platform, the Solterra is the first electric all-wheel-drive vehicle to boast the world-renowned capability of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Loaded with state-of-the-art amenities, this EV provides Subaru's famous 8.3 inches of ground clearance, an available 12.3-inch touchscreen, next-generation active safety features, and the consistent dependability of a Subaru in an all-electric, zero-emissions SUV. 

Power that Goes the Distance


With an all-wheel-drive system that utilizes two electric motors to make a combined 215 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque, the Solterra makes its presence known. And just like its gasoline-fueled brethren, the Solterra will come with four different Drive Modes to deploy that power: Normal, Eco, Power, and X-mode. These are engineered to help your traction in slippery conditions or across uneven surfaces by independently regulating the power to each wheel. In addition to the 8.3 inches of lift, the Solterra offers a "Grip Control" feature for even more control at low speeds. 
The Solterra's drivetrain, called StarDrive, puts out an estimated range of over 220 miles and has options for fast and convenient charging at home and on the road. According to the company, the DC fast-charging capability delivers an 80% charge in less than an hour. Additionally, Subaru has partnered with EVgo to "provide customers with access to more than 800 public fast charging locations and 1200+ L2 charging stalls spanning 68 metropolitan areas and 35 states."
Reservation Program for the 2023 Solterra EV near Santa Fe, NM
Until February 28, buyers can put down a $250 refundable deposit in exchange for the chance to be amongst the first customers to purchase or lease the crossover. Even though Subaru hasn't released pricing information as of yet, the reservation process lets customers select the trim of their choice as well as their preferred dealership. 
Prices are set to be announced in April or May, after which reservation holders will be informed to contact their chosen dealer to complete the transaction. When everything is final, the EV should be delivered this summer!
Trim Variations of the Solterra EV
Full details of trims haven't been published to date. Still, we know the entry-level Solterra Premium will have LED headlights, blind-spot monitoring, automatic climate control, and Subaru's exclusive EyeSight Driver Assist technology. 
A more upscale exterior is found on the mid-level Solterra Limited, with roof rails, fog lights, and 20-inch alloy rims. It also features a unique rear spoiler and a power liftgate. 
The Solterra Limited gets more inside, with a heated steering wheel, power driver's seat, and StarTex upholstery. You'll also discover a wireless smartphone charger, heated front and rear seats, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. Also included is a surround-view camera, Harmon Kardon premium audio, and the 12.3-inch display with cloud-based navigation infotainment and a voice assistant.
The top-of-the-line Solterra Touring adds to the Limited with a panoramic glass roof, Illuminated trim, a digital rearview mirror, and ventilated front seats. A two-tone roof is also available.
