What’s in Store for the 2022 Subaru Forester near Rio Rancho NM

Now that the Forester is at the end of its third year of the new model, Subaru should be making a few changes both inside and out as they normally do with all their vehicles. Recently, spy photos were leaked online that showed a slightly disguised Forester, which surely means exterior updates at the least.

 The rear of the Forester in the spy photo is mostly not covered in camo but there are a few differences that can be seen. Where normally there's a strip of level trim, a trio of raised cutouts are seen on the lower fascia close to the exhaust. Black tape covers the badging and the taillights appear to remain unchanged.

Camouflage also covers big pieces of the sides and fenders which could mean more body cladding, which in turn would mean a more rugged look. Of course, a more rugged look could also turn out to be the new Wilderness Edition of the Forester that's set to debut with the refreshed Forester. 

When the 2022 Subaru Forester near Rio Rancho NM is launched in the Wilderness Edition trim, its main objective will be better off-road capability. Sources close to Subaru have predicted new features that are geared toward stronger and more durable standard equipment.

More significant changes are likely to occur under the skin of the Forester, such as improved safety. The new generation of the EyeSight suite of driver assist features, called EyeSight X combines the front and rear radars to deliver 360-degree sensing. Drive Mode has been updated and has five distinct choices. The "character" of the vehicle can be changed by selecting one of Sport, Comfort, Individual, Normal, or Sport+ modes. Subaru has begun to upgrade its model lineup with direct-injection turbocharged (DIT) 4-cylinder engines, which deliver power with better fuel economy. The new DIT produces 260 hp and a hefty 277 lb-ft of torque to quench the thirst for more power.
